Spring has Sprung

With spring comes increased foot traffic at McDonald's.  Which means more opportunities to catch the oddball McConsumer in the act.  I feel like as soon as weather starts to get nice, people go through one crazy week where their cabin fever comes to fruition and hits a peak before they can finally escape into the great spring weather.  There were a few oddballs this week that just left me scratching my head....

Drive-Thru Antics

So my friends and I are relaxing in my apartment, watching Netflix (because how else are you supposed to procrastinate).  My friend glances out the window and just says "...what is this guy doing?  Apparently this gentleman had been waiting in the Drive-Thru, gotten up to the speaker to order, then got out of his vehicle and traded spots with someone else: the driver of the car behind him.  This wasn't your routine Chinese fire-drill.  This wasn't because the passenger was the one ordering or anything like that.  We had no clue why this was happening.  But it got even more confusing.  At this point our adventurous driver proceeded through the Drive-Thru line but then pulled off and parked in the parking lot.  He then went inside and stood around for a good 5 to 10 minutes.  Then he left.  No food.  No nothing.  Still not sure what this guy was doing.....

Rainy Daize

Peoria got hit with some serious rain this week.  Ranging from sporadic showers to torrential downpours they were sometimes pretty unpredictable.  One afternoon my roommate and I had our windows open enjoying the nice weather when the storm rolled up.  Since the rain wasn't blowing in I kept the windows open - because who doesn't love the smell and sound of a good storm right? While I was checking to see if the rain was blowing in I noticed a peculiar McConsumer.  This guy was sitting outside of McDonald's at their outdoor tables, in what had evolved into a steady storm at this point.  McDonald's hasn't put up the umbrellas outside yet so he was getting drenched, but that didn't seem to bother him.  He was just relaxing, enjoying his shake in the rain. The downpour didn't seem to bother him.  He was just staring off into the distance sipping on his straw.

Just goes to show you that no matter how rainy your day is, you can still enjoy the sweet moments that life gives you!

  1. This made me laugh... was not expecting the McDonald's story but it was a good one! I live by the McDonalds on Western lol. Whenever I drive by you never know what to expect. One day my roommates and I went, just to witness a couple breaking up literally in front of the drive thru. Always an adventure at McDonalds in Peoria!

    1. I'm glad you got a chuckle out of it! I've lived across from McDonald's for years now and I kind of grew numb to the oddities that became a regular occurrence! But I decided this blog would be a great opportunity to share all the odd things with everyone else who isn't as blessed as you and I! haha
